this is a new necklace i've been working to coordinate with the DRAPE earrings, but i'm trying to decide which connection i like better. simple jump-ring or hand-stitched leather... which do you prefer? i've love to hear your opinion!
I have to say that each seems strong in it's own style. I can see wearing the leather with a heavier/darker outfit and the ring with something a bit more dressy. Can you offer both?
both look great tia k! i would buy the one with the jump ring. it's much more refined and really allows the work that you do to stand out. i think the leather, as interesting as the combo is, detracts your eye from the actual piece and is a bit too heavy. my 2 centavos.
I like the jump ring much better with this pendant. I love the idea of the leather, but it holds this pendant too tightly. Perhaps something else should grow out of that leather? Or maybe if the leather was slightly longer, or thinner, I don't know. I do like the idea of leather + wood.... You'll get it right, I'm sure!
hmm...the jump ring is the expected solution, which makes it less appealing to me.
i would choose the leather, but perhaps you could repeat the flow of the pendant by cutting a crescent shape into the leather strap...a mirror image of the top curve in the pendant.

Both are quite lovely but I do have a preference for the jump ring. Great design!

i like the jump ring as it puts the focus entirely on the pendant... but the stitched leather pulls the chain/cord and pendant together as a whole.
i REALLY like the leather one. the jump ring seems too dainty for such a large wood piece and they are both "natural" materials.

THANK YOU, all, for your input!

I LOVE the leather. it puts it in another class -more couture for lack of a better word.
dramatic and different from what you would expect.

or a Y shape in leather...
